Welcome to the Christian Discipleship Center! Since February 1, 2011, we have been known as BCIL – the Bangkok Christian International Library, but effective March 12, 2018, we rejoice in re-naming and re-envisioning BCIL to be the Bangkok Christian Discipleship Center (BCDC)! Read more of how this came about here.

Fellowship & Following Christ Together —
“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me—and I in him—bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and burned up. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you want, and it will be done for you. My Father is honored by this, that you bear much fruit and show that you are my disciples.” (John 15:5-8)

The Vision

Re-envisioning Bangkok Christian  International Library (BCIL) to Bangok Christian Discipleship Center (BDCD)

“…that BCDC would not be a place to just gather and meet, but a place to be filled up and built up with the Word and knowledge of God, so that we as His disciples would go out from here equipped to spread the Good News.”

Jesus said, ” ‘My true disciples produce much fruit. This brings great glory to my Father'” (John 15:8 NLT). Jesus also said, “‘By their fruits you will know them'” (Matthew 7:20 NKJV).

Since February 1st, 2011, BCIL had been faithfully serving as a resource center, providing Christians in Bangkok books and multimedia resources to help edify the body and to help us grow in the knowledge of Christ. It is a welcoming and safe place for non-believers and believers to learn more about Jesus Christ through our resources and building friendships with other library members.

It has been a journey of faith as we started the library from 20 books, to now containing more than 3,000 titles. Our library was never the usual stereotypical library where conversations are hushed and loud movements are discouraged.

What God is doing here is far greater and louder than being a simple destination or a place where books are collected and loaned out.

Over the past seven years, we have witnessed how God has been using our unit on the 16th floor of Lumpini Tower to be more than a library or resource center. As we became more aware of what God has begun, we were compelled to re-aligning our mission to the Great Commission to which He calls all of His disciples. Over the years, we saw that BCIL was a place where both believers and non-believers gathered to create connections and build lasting relationships.

Among Jesus’ commands was His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20, NIV) that says, “Go and make disciples of all nations.” In the past couple of years, we have seen a steady increase of missionaries, ministries, lay-ministers, pastors, use BCIL for community, service, and even a church gathering. Indeed – it has already become a place of discipleship! It is something that God has already been doing all these years, so it is appropriate that we now identify and rename this space as such!

And so, after much prayer over the past year, we are renaming of BCIL to be Bangkok Christian Discipleship Center (BCDC), that BCDC would not be a place to just gather and meet, but a place to be filled up and built up with the Word and knowledge of God, so that we as His disciples would go out from here equipped to spread the Good News.

It is our prayer that our transition will be a source of encouragement for others to utilize the space for Kingdom work through pre-booking of our facilities for private teaching, training, bible studies, prayer gatherings and worship services.

Bangkok Christian Discipleship Centre

Please join us in prayer in dedicating BCDC to the glory of Jesus Christ our Lord, for the work of the Holy Spirit to come alive in and through those who use the facilities, as well as being salt and light in Bangkok, throughout Thailand and into the nations.

Library

BCDC’s library was originally BCIL (Bangkok Christian International Library) and was founded on February 1st, 2011, as an independent privately funded library. Since then, we have been blessed with a collection of a little over 3,000 books. God called BCIL to provide Christians in Bangkok books and multimedia resources to help edify the body and to help us grow in the knowledge of Christ. The aim is to provide a welcoming and safe place for non-believers to learn more about Jesus Christ through our resources and building friendships with other library members.

While we have renamed BCIL to be BCDC to align our vision to God’s of equipping disciples with multimedia resources and a space for classes to take place, the library services continue to operate as usual as part of the larger mission of BCDC.

Prayer Walk

Join us every every last Saturday of the month from 3:30 to 5 pm for a prayer walk around the Lumpini and Bon Kai neighborhood.

Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19)

God does not wish for anyone to perish and it is our duty as those who have received His grace and forgiveness to share this Good News and intercede for those who have not yet accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

One of our most fervent prayers for this community in spiritual bondage is for God “to open eyes that are blind, to free captives from prison and to release from the dungeon those who sit in darkness.” (Isaiah 42:7).

Please meet us at the library at 3:30 pm and we will leave together for our prayer walk in the neighbourhood. We hope to not only be a blessing for the Continue reading “Prayer Walk”
